- Candidates must be in medical category SHAPE-I.
- Character should be Exemplary or Very Good (Certificate from institution).
- No involvement in civil/police cases (Verification).

- Ex-servicemen (pension holders) have no minimum age limit but they must submit application within five years of retirement/discharge.
- Ecological TA rank candidates can serve up to 50 years for other ranks.
