The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the Notification for Constable (GD) in CAPFs, SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination 2026. Selection Process
The recruitment process consists of five stages:
- Computer Based Examination (CBE)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Medical Examination (DME / RME)
- Document Verification (DV)
Exam Pattern – Computer-Based Test
- Total Questions: 80
- Total Marks: 160
- Duration: 60 Minutes
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks per wrong answer

- General Intelligence & Reasoning – 20 Questions
- General Knowledge & Awareness – 20 Questions
- Elementary Mathematics – 20 Questions
- English / Hindi – 20 Questions
The exam is conducted in English, Hindi, and 13 regional languages.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Male: 5 km in 24 minutes
- Female: 1.6 km in 8.5 minutes
- Different standards apply to Ladakh region candidates
Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Male Height: 170 cm
- Female Height: 157 cm
- Chest measurement is applicable only for male candidates
- Relaxations available for ST, North-Eastern states, hilly regions, and specified categories
